Celebrations in Crimea after annexation treaties

Celebrations were held in Crimea on Friday after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed treaties to incorporate four Ukrainian regions into Russia, in defiance of Western powers.Hundreds of Sevastopol residents with flags and posters gathered at a central square for a festive rally and concert.

In a ceremony at the Kremlin, Putin and the Moscow-installed leaders in four regions of Ukraine put their names on treaties for them to join Russia.The signing ceremony comes three days after the completion of Kremlin-organised votes on joining Russia, the legitimacy of which has been widely questioned by Kyiv and the West.
