Celebration of Peace and Unity: Christmas Thanksgiving Ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw

The Thanksgiving Ceremony for Christmas took place at St. Michael Catholic Church in Pyinmana of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on Sunday, with the presence of Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The ceremony commenced with blessings from Father Soe Lin Aung, followed by a Dhamma song performed by Christian youths. Reverend Dr. Tin Maung Aye, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Churches Council, extended warm greetings, expressing gratitude for the Prime Minister's gracious presence and his commitment to fostering peace and stability in the country, with a special emphasis on the well-being of the Christian community.

In response, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing conveyed his joy in celebrating the Christmas occasion with the Christian people, extending wishes for peace and prosperity for Myanmar citizens and the global community.

Recognizing the universal pursuit of well-being within all religions, he emphasized the importance of peace as a fundamental aspect of every faith. The Prime Minister reiterated the State Administration Council's commitment to peace and invited all to actively participate in this endeavor, highlighting the Tatmadaw's readiness for peace.

Emphasizing the two national objectives of prosperity and food sufficiency, he urged the collective efforts of the entire population toward the prosperity of the country, fostering stability, security, and peaceful coexistence among all religions.

Special blessings were then offered by Reverend Shamo Aye La, followed by a collective singing of Dhamma songs by reverends, nuns, Catholic youths, and Christian attendees, including the Prime Minister and wife. The ceremony concluded with the exchange of Christmas gifts and the presentation of cash donations, followed by a luncheon enjoyed by the Prime Minister, his wife, and the attendees.
