Celebrating Tradition: Thingyan Festival in Taninthayi Region

In Taninthayi Region, local people enjoyed the traditional Myanmar Thingyan Festival on its second day. Pandals representing departments and military stations saw crowds of revelers, enjoying entertainment programs and charity feasts.
Chief Minister U Myat Ko, together with officials, toured the pandals in Dawei and presented honorary cash to the participants. With public holidays in full swing, revelers visited Thingyan pandals to enjoy the water festival, while others took pilgrim tours to seek refuge in peaceful shelters.
