Cash Assistance: Provisions for displaced persons in Kachin State

Cash assistance were provided to the displaced persons in Kachin State, at a ceremony, held at Naung Chein VIllage in Waimaw Township of Myitkyina District on February 19th.

Due to the terrorist incidents, those who fled their homes temporarily were provided 20,000 kyat cash assistance for each individual from the National Disaster Management Fund. Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan attended the ceremony and provided over 200 million kyat worth provision for more than 10,000 people from 14 villages.

During the event, rice and warm clothes were also provided for the displaced persons while coordination were made for the needs of capital for livelihoods. The Chief Minister and party later took a tour to the village, and inspected the construction progress of health infrastructures.
