Cases of dengue, mosquito-borne diseases rising in Europe

Cases of dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases are rising significantly in Europe as climate change creates more favourable conditions for invasive mosquitoes to spread, the EU's health agency warns.

European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control expert said there is no vaccine for West Nile virus infection in humans. For Zika there is a vaccine that is in development, and for Chikungunya, the European Medicines Agency recently has recommended granting marketing authorization of the first Chikungunya vaccine in Europe.
