Carney says Canada ready for more trade talks when 'Americans are ready'

Canada Prime Minister Mark Carney said that Canada is ready for further trade talks whenever the United States is ready, after President Donald Trump announced he was ending negotiations over an anti-tariff advertising campaign. Trump terminated the talks on Thursday over the video, former President Ronald Reagan, saying tariffs cause trade wars and economic disaster.

Carney has tried on two White House visits since becoming prime minister to strike a deal to lower import tariffs on steel, aluminum and autos imposed by Trump that have hurt Canada's economy.
