Caring services to elders: Providing physical and mental weakness of the elders

The Day Care Center under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement is providing caring services to elders at the age of 70 and above including retired civil service personnel and some elderly people who are appropriate for the rules of the center. 

Deputy Director, Wai Wai Phyo Hlaing, Day Care Center said "The center was established on 20th November 2013. Since establishing, the center has provided caring services to 433 elders. We daily provide health care services and nutritious food for them. And we also arrange for treatments of traditional medicines once a month and physiotherapy treatments are also provided to them. "

The day care center was established with the aim to care physical and mental weakness of the elders and the center is providing caring services to the elderly people in social and healthcare needs. 

Deputy Director, Wai Wai Phyo Hlaing, Day Care Center said "In social caring program, we create team work programs and implement the way how to take care of each other. Besides, we also arrange the program for them to meet with children and nursery school children. "

The elders also expressed their feelings on caring services of the center providing to us in social and health care. 

Win Myint, Mingalardon Township said "I am 73 years old and I have been here for a year. Here, I can talk with other people and make friends. We also make worshipping together. I am very satisfied to live here and I am not alone."

Tin Ohn, Hlaing Township said "I am 77 years old and I have been here for 7 years. Here, all are like a family and take care of each other. So, we are happy to be here. "

In 2023-2024 fiscal year, the center is providing caring services to 86 elders at the age of 70 and above including retired civil service personnel.
