Cargo ship sinks between SKorea and Japan

South Korean officials said that the South Korean and Japanese coast guards were trying to rescue 22 crew members of a Hong Kong-flagged cargo ship that sank in waters between the two countries.

The coast guard of the southern South Korean island of Jeju said at least two of the crew members have been rescued from the Jin Tian ship that sank in waters about 150 kilometers south of the island while transporting lumber.It said 14 of the crewmembers were Chinese nationals and eight were from Myanmar.South Korean coast guard officials didn’t immediately comment on the prospects for rescuing the remaining crew members of the vessel.
