Capacity Enhancement: MoNREC opens training for the staff officer level

The capacity building training course No.10 for the staff officers was opened at the Department of Forest in Yezin on Wednesday with an address by Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi.

In his opening speech, the Union Minister said that the township level is the primary for the management, conservation for the sustainable development of the forests and implementing for the socio-economic life of the people. The training aims for the capacity enhancement of the township level officers to fulfill effectively the interest of the State and the people.

The Union Minister also stressed on the extension of reserve forests and natural conservation areas in line with the 30-year National Forestry Master Plan, the achievement of the tasks including in the reforestation of Myanmar and spending the budget in line with financial rules, improving forest coverage areas in Myanmar, conservation of watershed areas and mangrove forests, combating illegal logging and supervising on establishing forest plantations in line with rules and regulations.

The Union Minister also called for striving to become the staffs who can serve for the interest of the department and the state while learning more the current forest sector. The Deputy Ministers, the permanent secretary, directors-general, concerned officials and 20 township level officer trainees attended the event.
