Capacity building workshop: MoC UM presided over the workshop

The Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn presided over a staff capacity building workshop for trademark examiners at Thingaha Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the Union Minister highlighted the implementation of the “Project on Capacity Building for Trademark Examiners,” funded by the ASEAN-Japan Center (AJC). He mentioned that Myanmar has developed a 5-year national IP strategy (2023-2028) and is actively implementing it.

He emphasized that a workshop will support human resource development, improve trademark examination efficiency and ensure accurate and timely results. After the Union Minister’s speech, Myanmar Ambassador to Japan U Soe Han and Ms. Deborah Nicole Danker of AJC delivered speeches.

This was followed by reports on the implementation status of the Intellectual Property Department (IPD). The workshop, attended by 50 IPD examiners, will be held over 4 days, from January 21st to 24th.
