Capacity building training: UEC Chairman delivered an opening address

The opening ceremony of pre worksite capacity building training for deputy staff officers who will serve the duties at Union Election Commission and various stages of sub election commisson was held at the meeting hall of the UEC in the morning on January 9.

In his opening speech at the ceremony, the Chairman of Union Election Commission said that out of 193 countries on the world, the election is being held at 191 countries. In other word, the parliament representatives are elected by the voters with the will casting ballots.

The election commission has to supervise the election for the voters to be able to cast their votes. In Myanmar also, the parliament elections have to be held to elect the representatives for the people’s parliament, national parliament, regions and states parliaments.

Those elections are supervised by the union election commission to be free and fair elections. The UEC has to be supervising the stages of sub election commissions to be in line with the electoral laws as well as political parties and parliament candidates etc. Next, the personal data of the trainees individually was presented and the opening ceremony was concluded.

 Also present at the ceremony were the members of Union Election Commission, officials of UEC office and the trainees and the training will take place from 9th to 20th January, it’s learnt
