Campaign to grow mangrove trees launched

Various localities across Vietnam have intensified tree-planting efforts to support green and sustainable development alongside clean energy initiatives. This drive is part of the nationwide campaign “Plant 1 Billion Trees for a Green Vietnam.”

In Cà Mau Province, authorities plan to plant 5,000 mangrove trees over two hectares of coastal forest in Tân Ân Commune. The province’s mangrove forests have suffered degradation due to climate change, rising sea levels, and strong coastal waves in recent years. Efforts to restore and expand these mangrove areas are crucial for coastal protection, erosion control, climate regulation, and sustaining local livelihoods.
