Cambodia's Hun Sen meets China's Xi in Beijing

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen met Friday with Chinese President Xi Jinping as part of a visit to China that underscores increasingly close ties between the two Asian countries. The two leaders touched on a range of topics including politics, agriculture, energy and industrial capacity, state broadcaster CCTV reported.

China will encourage more companies to invest in Cambodia, support the construction of transport infrastructure and increase investment in clean energy in Cambodia, according to CCTV. At the Friday meeting, Xi said China firmly supports Cambodia in choosing its own path for development and opposes external interference in its domestic politics, CCTV reported.
