Bridge Construction: Progress of Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant inspected the construction works of the Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge on Sunday.

During the visit, the Union Minister oversaw the progress of the road gradient, the construction of the approach road, and the mid-river pillar. Officials reported on the work progress and future plans. The Union Minister instructed that the works have to be completed by 2025 through collaborative efforts among the concerned departments, while adhering to the designated procedures.

They then inspected the construction of Pylon-1 on the Dala side and instructed for timely completion of the works.Designed with a modern, innovative structure, the Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge is a suspension bridge with the highest number of cable wires among all bridges in Myanmar.

Soundproof walls have been installed on both sides of the bridge to minimize disturbance to the residential areas on the Yangon side. It is also equipped with a Maintenance Tower, a Toll Plaza, and a Weight Bridge to monitor and control overloaded vehicles.
