



Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said his country is back on the international stage as he attended a Brazil-Portugal summit in Lisbon alongside Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa on Saturday.
The visit to Portugal is Lula’s first trip to a European country since he won a third non-consecutive term in October.While in Portugal, the left-wing leader aims to secure around a dozen agreements on trade, science, education and migration during the relaunch of a Portugal-Brazil summit, which had been last held in 2016.
During the summit, 13 bilateral agreements were signed by ministers, including a cooperation deal between the space agencies of Brazil and Portugal. Both Lula and Costa affirmed the importance of maintaining close commercial and humanitarian relations.
