Brazil's Lula greets supporters on campaign trail

In Brazil's presidential race, leftist leader and one of the frontrunners, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has seen his lead in opinion polls increase slightly over the far-right incumbent. Lula held his last rally in the State of Minas Gerais.

According to the latest polling, Lula currently leads the incumbent president 47% to 33%, and hopes to increase his lead by attracting voters in the middle-income state, which tends to see heavy turnout in national elections.
