Fishing has become more difficult for the fisherman due to an atypical drought and fires that have ravaged the Pantanal wetlands in Brazil, home to millions of animal species, is currently experiencing record fires for this time of year.

In the first half of this year, satellites recorded more than 3,400 fires in the region, 33 percent more than in 2020. A biologist said this is only the beginning of the fight to preserve as many lives as possible in the fauna.
