Hundreds of worshipers dressed in white took to Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana beach to make offerings to Yemanja, a sea goddess from traditional Afro-Brazilian religions Candomble and Umbanda. They placed flowers and other gifts in boats and push them into the ocean as an end-of-year celebration believing that sea goddess can bring love, prosperity, and peace to their lives and paths.
