Brazil win the first powerboat E1 race in Africa

Timmy Hansen, team Brazil's Swedish pilot, and Marit Stromoy, team Brazil's Norwegian pilot, celebrated after winning a race in the UIM E1 World Championship on Sunday, an all-electric powerboat racing series.

In preparation for the race, the Lagos state government spent weeks cleaning the waterways of plastic and other waste that is usually dumped into the lagoon. The contest was held in Nigeria's bustling metropolis of Lagos, in what was the first time such an event had been held in Africa.
