Brazil unites in World Cup craze

Every four years when the soccer World Cup arrives many in Brazil get caught up in the joy of the tournament.

Street garnishing in preparation for the World Cup is a tradition that extends throughout the country that is one of the biggest champions of the international soccer tournament.

In Guapimirim, locals have a tradition of setting up a competition where neighbours organize themselves to decorate and paint their streets and compete with others for a prize.Waltemir's street, just like Brazil's soccer team, is the biggest champion of the street decorating competition and hopes to win again this year.

Brazil's yellow and green colours that had always been associated with the soccer team were taken as the official colours of Jair Bolsonaro over the last four years. So this World Cup was seen as an opportunity for many to take back the colours to symbolize the union of the deeply dived Brazilians.
