Brazil president receives ceremonial welcome in UAE

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva received a colorful ceremonial welcome in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday. Lula’s visit is the first to an Arab country in his third term and his second official visit to the UAE.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed hosted talks with Lula at the Al-Watan Palace. The leaders discussed bilateral relations and “reviewed existing areas of cooperation". They also discussed the COP28 climate change conference that will be held in the UAE later this year.The two also witnessed the exchange of a number of memoranda of understandings between various ministries of both countries.
