


American Ministers of Foreign Affairs spoke Friday to the security and humanitarian crisis in Haiti, where gangs and protesters paralyze the country and basic supplies dwindle. The report was confirmed by the US Department of State and a Haitian official who was not authorized to speak about the issue publicly, and who also said a formal request in writing has not yet been submitted.
Secretary General of Brazilian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Fernando Silmas, said the situation in Haiti is now "turning concerning" despite decades of efforts by the international community. The petition comes after Luis Almagro, secretary general of the Organization of American States, held a meeting Thursday with officials, including US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Haiti Foreign Affairs Minister Jean Victor Généus to talk about the country's worsening situation.
