


The border trade between Myanmar and Thailand in the last financial year 2022-2023 topped over 5.27 billion USD, according to the Ministry of Commerce. The figures indicated an increase of 462.13 million USD compared to that in the 2021-2022 FY.
The majority of the trade was carried out via the Myawady and Hteekhee border, the Ministry of Commerce’s statistics showed. The trade values stood at over 148 million USD at Tachilek, 2.03 billion at Myawady, $224 million at Kawthoung, $132 million at Myeik, $2.72 billion at Hteekhee and over $15 million at Mawtaung border.
Myanmar conveys onion, green gram, fresh and dried chilli pepper, rice powder, broken rice, corn, peanut, tamarind, cassava, cabbage, Mollusca, eel, crab, fish paste, shrimp, clam, anchovy, other fish, clothes manufactured on the Cutting-Making and Packaging basis to Thailand through Myawady. The main export items are garments from the CMP businesses, rice powder, corn, peanut, fish paste, chilli pepper, broken rice, onion, fishery products, cassava, tamarind, cabbage, transformer main and green gram.
