Efforts are being made to attract foreign visitors to tour destinations in Nay Pyi Taw through cooperation between the government and the private sector. As part of the plans, a Thai production crew arrived in Myanmar to produce promotional videos in Nay Pyi Taw and Bagan.

On Saturday, the crew visited the Maravijaya Buddha Image and took video footage for tourism promotion. Their activity was encouraged by Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe, who emphasized that this tour could help support the development of bilateral tourism industries.

It is learned that the Thai production crew will film at Maravijaya Buddha Image, Uppatasandhi Pagoda, Royal White Elephants, and Hluttaw in Nay Pyi Taw, as well as the natural landscapes and sunrise beauties of Bagan. These production packages are scheduled to broadcast on Channel 8 of Thailand and other social media networks to attract more tourists to Myanmar.

In 2023, Myanmar received about 1.3 million foreign tourists, and among them, over 900,000 were from Thailand, accounting for 74% of tourist arrivals. In January 2024, about 140,000 tourists have visited Myanmar, and among them, over 110,000 were Thai tourists, accounting for 84%.
