Boosting rice export: Efforts putting to produce high quality of rice

The Myanmar Rice Federation has been conducting with the partner groups to distribute the high quality seeds of rice to the local farmers and aims to export about 2.5 million tons of rice worth 1 billion US dollars in 2023-2024 fiscal years.

Sai Kyaw, Chairman, Myanmar Rice Federation, said " We have been carrying out to produce the high quality rice. And we are cooperating with our partner groups in order to distribute the high quality rice seeds to the farmers. Agriculture is the main parts of Myanmar and government should provide more agricultural equipments and fertilizers to the farmers. If the farmers get the fertilizers in fair price, the production volume of rice and the volume of export earnings could be increase."

Myanmar shipped rice and broken rice to regional countries, countries in Africa and European countries through sea trade as well as exported to neighboring countries, China and Thailand via the border posts.
