Boosting Crops Cultivation: Efforts for local oil sufficiency and reducing import

Discussions on boosting oil crops cultivation and providing raw materials to local oil mills took place at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister U Min Naung, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Directors General and experts.

During the meeting, plans for cultivation of oil crops during 2024-2025 cultivation season, completed cultivation of oil crops in regions and states and condition for providing raw materials from oil crops plantations were discussed.

The meeting also discussed matters on damaging of crops across regions and states due to Typhoon Yagi and adopted plans for local oil sufficiency and reducing import.
