Boosting Agricultural Produces: MOALI Dy Minister visits Ayeyawady Region

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Tin Htut and officials from Agricultural Research Department visited Sunflower and Sunn Hemp plantations in TuuChaung Village of NyaungDone township, Ayeyawady region on 1st March. They also met with local farmers and discussed to cultivate sunflower, Canola and Sunnhemp that support for renewal of ecosystem. 

The Deputy Minister added that sunflower cultivators to engage in  beekeeping business to achieve extra-earning. Then they proceeded to 350-acre tripple-crop plantation, being carried out by electric river water pumping system, in KaukGyiKone village tract of Kyaungkone township. They met with farmers and clarified the crucial role of good quality short-term paddy cultivation, ploughing in time, access of irrigation water, and drainage system for promoting subsidary crop producion.

Afterwards, the Deputy Minister arrived at hybrid sunflower plantation in Eaime township and discussed the need to cultivate the targeted numbers of plant, and provide additional supply of irrigated water to crop plantations.
