






The Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung attended a ceremony of donating cash, books and journals for the development of libraries in Myanmar was held at the City Hall of Mandalay City Development Committee (MCDC) in the morning on 10th April.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that the intelligentsia and technicians with the extensive knowledge are needed for the development of the country. As long as development of cutting-edge technologies, even though the reading from the digital libraries using internet, the books and literature is the essential treasure for the human beings.
The government is creating an environment to have reading habit of the people including the young people.It’s important for sustainability of the libraries for the rural population to read the books and be accessible to the books.
Next, the ceremony of donating cash and books was held and one million Kyats of cash was donated by the Patron and Chair of Region Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee, over 4000 books and 20.810 million Kyats by the region minister for social affairs on behalf of the well-wishers and the books by Village Libraries Supervisory Committee and Rectors from University of Foreign Languages and Kyaukse University and the Chief Minister accepted the donations and presented certificate of honor.
Then, the Rector of Kyaukse University clarified the purposes of donation on behalf of the well-wishers, the attendees took the documentary group photo, Chief Minister and well-wishers viewed the books and cordially greeted the attendees.
