Book Donation: 1,000 books donated to the MOI Library Committee

The Library Committee under the Ministry of Information accepted donation of 1,000 books on Wednesday. The books were contributed by Author Maung Aung who is the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Gyi. The donated book was published in 1973 during his university student life.

The book titled “La Kwae Nya Ei Alin Yaung” (Light under the New Moon Day), won Sarpay Beikman Manuscript Award, and it was published for the second edition in 2019. It describes the literacy campaign through the experience by the author.

The third edition has been published since Three “Rs” Literacy Campaign reintroduced this year. Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn accepted the donated books and expressed thanks for the contribution. Previously, the author donated 250 books on Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation sector and another 250 books on topics related to father’s matters. The donated books will be further distributed to the concerned libraries.
