Bomb attack injures civilians in Thai South

Multiple civilians were injured in a pipe bomb attack at a railway crossing in the southern Thai city of Yala on Wednesday. Two assailants on a motorcycle threw two pipe bombs at a railway crossing checkpoint on Sirorot Road within the Yala municipal area, according to police.

One of the devices detonated, while the other failed to explode. Injured people have been taken to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities suspect the attack was carried out by insurgents active in the area. Yala has been the site of a decades-long insurgency that has claimed thousands of lives.
