Indigenous Aymara women paraded Wednesday night in El Alto wearing bowler hats and dresses in the Cholita fashion. Some 20 Bolivian Aymara models displayed pleated dresses, ponchos and other garbs made in Vicuña wool, considered a fine fiber for the chilling heights of the Andean region. These dresses were designed by 15 artisans, who aim to sell their clothing for the religious festivities that were canceled in previous years due to the pandemic restrictions.
