Boki, a three-year-old brown bear who underwent brain surgery in October 2024, has woken up from hibernation in a healthy condition and is playing with toys. Boki had been suffering from seizures and was diagnosed with hydrocephalus having excess fluid in the brain.

Specialist wildlife veterinary surgeon was able to successfully operate on Boki, fitting a stent between Boki's brain and abdomen to help him pass the excess fluid. According to staff members of Wildwood Trust, a wildlife park in England and home to the bear, Boki is making a good recovery.
