Bogyoke Statue: President Attends Bogyoke Aung San Bronze Statue Unveiling Ceremony

Unveiling ceremony of Bogyoke Aung San bronze statue at Thapyaegone roundabout in Nay Pyi Taw was held on Thursday, February 13, marking his birthday.

President U Win Myint, vice presidents U Myint Swe and U Henry Van Thio and many other officials attended the ceremony. With the use of 7 tons of bronze, the statue is 18 feet high and the foundation is 15 feet high, altogether 33 feet high. Placing General Aung San Statue in Nay Pyi Taw is aimed at the next generation to know about the efforts of General Aung San for gaining Independence and history of building a union and to hand down the responsibility to build a democratic federal union.

The cost for casting statue was spent by funds donated by the public, according to the leading committee.
