






In order to conduct a special exhibition commemorating the 76th Martyrs' Day that falls on upcoming 19th July, special renovation works are being carried out at Bogyoke Aung San Museum (Yangon) which will be temporarily closed from 27th June to 18th July.
Bogyoke Aung San Museum is a building built in 1921 with the 20th century European style.
Museum In-charge, Bogyoke Aung San Museum (Yangon), Nyo Nyo Yin Mauk said "Renovation tasks such as retouch of painting and decoration of retaining walls around the museum building, required places inside and outside Bogyoke Aung San’s house, hand-rails around the lake, downstairs of the museum, Bogyoke’ vehicle exhibition room, planting imported grasses and construction of temporary tent and camps for the special exhibition are underway."
In addition, photos and famous speeches of the general will be on display with 14 boards at the entrance to the museum. With the effort of Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC), eggplant, chilli and roselle are also planted for the display to the public.
Museum In-charge, Bogyoke Aung San Museum (Yangon), Nyo Nyo Yin Mauk said "The labels of the displayed items in the museum have been renovated this year. Preparation works are currently 90 percent completed, and the roof on the passage leading to the kitchen room still needs to be renovated."
90 % of the preparations inside and outside the museum have been completed at the Bogyoke Aung San Museum for the study of the public, it’s learnt.
