Boat Capsizes: Leaving 12 missing in Chindwin River

On September 19th, a boat capsize occurred in Chindwin River, resulting in the disappearance of 12 individuals. The Kyae Min – 4 vessel, which was transporting cargo, was navigating the Chindwin River from Khamti in the Sagaing Region.

It encountered a whirl near Pan Set Village in Minkin Township at approximately 9:55 am, leading to the capsizing of the boat. Among the missing are 3 company staff members, 6 civilian passengers, and 3 security members. Rescue teams are currently engaged in efforts to search for the missing persons.
