




The Bank of Maldives (BML), in collaboration with the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology’s National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) and Mastercard, launched the Maldives Digital Partnership Programme. This five-year initiative aimed to accelerate the Maldives’ digital transformation by modernizing digital infrastructure and expanding access to secure digital services.
The programme focused on upgrading digital identity and payment systems, strengthened cybersecurity with AI-driven solutions and digitized government services. It also introduced advanced payment systems for public transportation and used data analytics to support key sectors like tourism.
The initiative supported the government’s Maldives 2.0 vision to leverage technology for economic growth and better governance. This collaboration marked a significant step toward a digitally empowered Maldives.
