Blood donations surge in Hong Kong after deadly fire

Many residents in Hong Kong have spontaneously donated blood to offer their support for the rescue operations following a deadly residential building fire.

Since the fire broke out, Hong Kong’s Red Cross has organized a blood donation drive to support the victims. Donor centers across Hong Kong have experienced an influx of residents patiently waiting in long lines to donate blood.

The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service has said that blood banks are currently stable and that the central blood bank has up to around 10-day worth of stock, but as more victims emerge, demand may also increase.
