U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken welcomed his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, to the State Department for bilateral talks Monday. Blinken said Morocco has been a force for peace, progress and moderation in the Middle East. Morocco's top diplomat called the relationship between the U.S. and Morocco "solid and historic.

“Nearly 20 years ago, the U.S. designated Morocco a major non-NATO ally. The U.S. and Moroccan militaries hold joint exercises and training. The State Department says Morocco is a strong partner in counterterrorism efforts and works closely with U.S. law enforcement to safeguard both countries’ national security interests.
