Blinken meet El-Sissi for Gaza ceasefire deal

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Egypt on Monday for talks aimed at brokering a cease-fire deal in the Gaza Strip. He met with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi during his visit in Cairo.

The visit is the first stop in a regional tour that will also take Blinken to Israel, Jordan and Qatar.The visit comes on the heels of a three-stage cease-fire proposal backed by US President Joe Biden to end the conflict in Gaza.
