Blinken hosts Spanish counterpart Albares at US State Department

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Albares signed a memorandum of understanding and held a joint press conference at the Department of State in Washington, DC.

Blinken said the two sides discussed on promoting cooperation including accelerating joint efforts to cut carbon emissions and increase energy security, expanding inclusive economic opportunities, fostering entrepreneurship and deepening educational exchanges and scientific collaboration.

The Spanish Foreign Minister also expressed that "Spain and the United States share values and interests, such as the fight against climate change, the preservation of the environment, the defense of democracy and human rights. He pledged to continue to work on further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
