Blinken arrives in Cape Verde on first stop of African tour

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday started a week-long tour of Africa's west coast as he seeks to bolster US-friendly democracies with security deteriorating in the Sahel. He arrived in Cape Verdo on the first stop of week-long tour and greeted by Foreign Minister Luis Filipe at the Nelson Mandela Praia International Airport. He also sets to visit Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Angola.
