Biological Diversity Issues: Presentation of management plans for protected areas

Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Min Thu on Tuesday attended the presentation ceremony of management plans for protected areas in commemoration of the International Day for Biological Diversity.

In this ceremony, the Deputy Minister stressed that theme of the 2024 International Day for Biological Diversity which is ‘Be part of the Plan’. In order to stop the loss of biodiversity, it is necessary to encourage the participation of all stakeholders and to develop management plans for nature conservation areas.It is also necessary to encourage the success of the habitat restoration project for wild animals from the year of 2019 to 2029.

He also called for efforts to achieve participation from the locals. And, Director General from the Forest Department made an explanation on the theme “Biodiversity Convention: Be part of the Plan”. This ceremony continued with screening a video clip in commemoration of the International Day for Biological Diversity along with posters display.
