BIMSTEC Business Conclave: Union Minister for Commerce discusses boosting relations

At the invitation of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo attended the BIMSTEC Business Conclave as an honor guest at the Hytta Regency Kolkata Hotel in Kolkata on Tuesday.

During the Conclave, the Union Minister discussed the situation of trading and opportunities to enhance investments between Myanmar and BIMESTEC countries, searching the potential products to boost the trading, encouraging the B to B business interactions to build the mutual relationships and trust between exporters and importers, matter to boost investment from BIMESTEC countries in Myanmar and use of exchange currencies, cooperation between traders of the two sides and boosting tourism industry.

He also discussed the plans including transportation between BIMSTEC countries, financial communications and promotion of people to people relations. After the Conclave, the Union Minister viewed round the products booths displayed by the BIMSTEC countries and the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry UMFCCI.

On the same day, the Union Minister attended the International Trade Forum (opportunities and barriers) and Chairman of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry UMFCCI discussed as a panelist.

Also, the Union Minister attended the BIMSTEC Forum (Challenges and Opportunities). At the forum, the director general of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration discussed as Panelist.
