





President U Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.
The President highlighted the friendly diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Viet Nam, which have lasted for more than 50 years, as well as the similarities in religion, culture and history between the two countries. He also noted the progress made in bilateral friendship and cooperation, including in the defence sector.
The visiting minister expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed an invitation from the Vietnamese President and General Secretary of the Communist Party, Mr. To Lam, for President U Min Aung Hlaing to pay an official visit to Viet Nam. He stressed that the upcoming visit by President U Min Aung Hlaing could help open a new chapter in the bilateral friendship and cooperation that the two countries have maintained for many years.
He reiterated that Viet Nam is a trusted partner that respects and values Myanmar’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and right to self-determination. They later discussed matters on strengthening friendly relations and cooperation, and enhancing collaboration between the two governments, hluttaws, armies and peoples. They also exchanged views on trade and investment opportunities, and Myanmar's cooperation in regional and international arena.
