Bilateral cooperation: Cooperation of Myanmar-China Law Enforcement forces

A collaboration between the law enforcement organizations of the two countries was carried out during March, 2024 at Muse Township in Shan State (North) of Myanmar to combat the online scams between Myanmar and China.

During the operation from 28th to 31st March, 2024, a total of 352 Chinese citizens including 337 males and 15 females who are illegally living in Muse Township and 486 Myanmar citizens suspected involving in online scamming were arrested and taken legal action.

352 of those arrested Chinese citizen were repatriated to take action in line with the procedures of China in groups such as 300 were repatriated in 29th March, 2024, 30 in 30th and 22 in 31st March through Man Wein Gate at Myanmar-China Border to the Chinese Police Force in line with the procedures as fast as possible.

Myanmar Police Force is investigating and revealing the online scams and taking actions effectively. The cooperation with the law enforcement organizations of neighboring countries will be continuing in line with the domestic laws and procedures to prevent and eradicate the online scams and online gambling at Myanmar border areas.
