Biden thanks Gulf leaders for support over Ukraine

President Joe Biden said the U.S. was "invested in building a positive future" in the Middle East, in partnership with regional governments. He was commenting in Saudi Arabia at a summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which was also attended by leaders from Iraq, Egypt and Jordan.

In his speech, Biden outlined the principles of his strategy for the Middle East, focusing on regional cooperation to stand up to threats. He also thanked the leaders for voting at the United Nations General Assembly in support of condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine, saying it was a "watershed moment".
