Biden spoke with Qatar's emir, Egypt's al-Sisi on efforts to free Hamas hostages

White House national security spokesman said during a press briefing that the US President Joe Biden said on Friday with Qatar's emir and Egyptian President al-Sisi to discuss efforts to free the hostages still being held in Gaza by Hamas.

The exchange came as the head of the CIA is to meet in Europe with his counterparts from Israel and Egypt and the Prime Minister of Qatar with the goal of negotiating a truce and the release of the remaining hostages in the Israeli-Hamas war.
