US President Joe Biden traveled to the southern border with Mexico and met with patrol agents and asylum officers on Thursday.

His trip to Brownsville, Texas, came on the same day that former President Donald Trump visited another city close by. During a visit, Biden urges his predecessor Trump to work with him to convince Republican lawmakers to pass a border security bill that has stalled in the US Congress.

Joe Biden, US President  said "I understand my predecessor is in Eagle Pass today. So here is what I would say to Mr. Trump: Instead of playing politics with this issue, instead of telling members of Congress to block this legislation, join me, or I'll join you, in telling the Congress to pass this bipartisan border security bill. We can do it together."

Trump has made immigration a priority. He went to the city of Eagle Pass and checked installations that Texas Governor Greg Abbott put in place to prevent migrants from entering. He vowed that, if he wins the presidential election, he will begin the "largest deportation" operation in US history.
