Biden calls for ban on type of gun used in Trump attack

US President Joe Biden resumed political attacks against Donald Trump on Tuesday for the first time since the assassination attempt on his rival, as the Democrat sought to prop up his own faltering re-election bid.

Biden has called for a ban the type of assault weapon used in the shooting of Donald Trump, during an impassioned address at a convention in Las Vegas. “An AR-15 was used in the shooting of Donald Trump, just as other assault weapons were used to kill so many others, including children. It’s time to outlaw them,” the US President in his first campaign speech since Saturday’ assassination attempt.
