BETTER TRANSPORTATION: ROADS IN MEIKHITLA UPGRADED

Upgrading of roads in Meikhtila Township will be carried out with the budget allotment for 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Over 587 million kyats budget has been allotted for tar-paving and concrete paving of the main roads in downtown which are the management of the Township Development Affairs Committee.

Member, Meikhtila Township Development Affairs Committee, Aung Kyaing said "We will carry out tar-paving of roads in two parts in downtown. Total length of the roads is 3420 ft with 18 ft wide. 93.28 million kyats budget was granted for upgrading works."

Apart from upgrading the roads in downtown Meikhtila, the streets in the wards will also be upgraded.

Member, Meikhtila Township Development Affairs Committee, Aung Kyaing said "There will be 10 streets for concrete paving in the wards. It will be 6070 ft in total and 141.0 million kyats budget allotment will be spent for it.
We will also carried out asphalt paving on 22 streets in the wards. With a total of length of 20675 ft, the budget allotment was granted for 266.27 million kyats.
Moreover, 4 earth roads will be upgraded to tar-paving ones, and total length is 3400 ft. 57.12 million kyats was granted for upgrading works."

It is learnt that the upgrading works of roads in downtown Meikhtila will commence on Friday (23rd October), and all the projects have to carried out within 2020-2021 fiscal year.
